In this nativity, Mary and Joseph are carved with traditional Masai garments and rest beneath a Kenyan acacia tree. This tree is considered sacred in some parts of Africa. A goat, a water buffalo and a cow join the holy family around the manger. The light jacaranda wood is stained a dark brown and polished until smooth and sleek.
